ProWood® has created a new joist option for professional deck builders. TrueFrame™ Joist is straight and more consistently sized, designed to cut down on jobsite culls and time spent returning warped boards. Stronger than traditional wood joists but less costly than alternative materials, TrueFrame Joist starts with #1-grade Southern Yellow Pine and undergoes a three-step process before arriving at the yard.

Treatment
What sets TrueFrame Joist apart starts with the treatment. The wood is pressure-treated with micronized copper azole (MCA) preservative combined with a proprietary additive designed to deliver greater stability—keeping boards straighter for longer.
Kiln-Dried After Treatment
After being treated, every board is dried in a large kiln. This process removes excess moisture and chemicals from the wood, resulting in a more stable joist less likely to warp, shrink, or twist while waiting to be used on a jobsite.

Factory-Planed
Finally, it wouldn’t be TrueFrame Joist without being factory-planed. After kiln drying, each board passes through precision saws, removing rough edges and creating consistent, precise joists that measure exactly as labeled. This factory-planing process ensures the dimensions of the joists are what you’re expecting, cutting down on any refining needed on-site.

A Jobsite Timesaver
ProWood created TrueFrame joist with contractors in mind. On the jobsite, time is money, and when you have a more dependable board that arrives straight and stays straight, that’s less time your crew has to spend sorting and correcting the product on-site.
