Makita’s new 18V LXT 2-1/2” Positive Placement Metal Connector Nailer (XNB09) gives builders a cordless option for fastening common metal connectors, including joist hangers and framing angles and brackets.
Designed to deliver pneumatic-like power without an air compressor, cords or hoses, the XNB09 nailer accepts 30°–35° metal connector nails ranging from 1-1/2” to 2-1/2” long with .131” to .162” shank diameters. A 50% longer nail guide helps align fasteners with metal connector ties for accurate nail placement.
For builders working with dense engineered lumber, the cordless nailer is designed to drive metal connector nails with power and ease. Tool-less depth adjustment provides greater control when securing metal connectors to wood, while an anti-dry fire mechanism helps prevent driving blanks.
The rear lock-and-load magazine holds up to 31 nails. When paired with a fully charged Makita 18V LXT 6.0Ah battery, the nailer can drive up to 1,000 metal connector nails on a single charge.
Additional jobsite features include a built-in LED work light, rubberized soft-grip handle, belt hook and retractable extra-wide tool hook. The brushless XNB09 weighs 10 lbs. bare and 11.5 lbs. with an 18V LXT 6.0Ah battery.
The nailer includes a hex wrench, belt hook, rafter hook and tool case. Battery and charger are sold separately. The XNB09 is backed by a three-year limited warranty.
