Accsys is proud to announce that Accoya and Accoya Color have both achieved Cradle to Cradle Certified Full Scope at the Gold level according to version 5.0. They are among the first building products to achieve Gold to the highly rigorous updated version of the standard.
The Cradle to Cradle Certified Product Standard (Full Scope) is the global standard to verify that products are designed for health, circularity, and fairness. It assesses materials and products across five sustainability performance categories: Material Health, Product Circularity, Clean Air & Climate Protection, Water & Soil Stewardship, and Social Fairness.
The standard is continuously evolving to reflect advances in sustainability best practices and technology. Version 5.0, released in February 2026, introduces more stringent requirements on the use of renewable energy, circularity pathways, greenhouse gas reduction, human rights management, and water conservation. Cradle to Cradle Certified products are recognized by several green building programs, including LEED and BREEAM, for their contribution to healthier buildings.
The certification means that for architects, specifiers, and customers, choosing Accoya provides an opportunity to translate sustainability objectives into material choices. With independently verified credentials alongside exceptional durability and dimensional stability, Accoya offers a wood solution that supports both long-term performance and responsible building practices.
Achieving the certification required a detailed assessment of raw materials, environmental performance, and manufacturing processes across all production sites in both Europe and the USA. Robust data collection, technical documentation, and independent verification were essential to demonstrating compliance across the standard’s five sustainability categories.
To meet the requirements of Version 5.0, Accoya is now manufactured using 100% renewable electricity. Alongside continued efforts to improve manufacturing energy efficiency, Accsys has also committed to offsetting 25% of all its Cradle to Gate emissions, including transportation emissions, further enhancing the environmental credentials of Accoya wood.

The certification for Accoya and Accoya Color is valid for three years, until October 2029.
