Deck Builders Gear up for First Annual Symposium

The first annual Deck Specialist Symposium is rapidly approaching on July 7-8. The free two-day all-virtual event, which will take place July 7 from 4 to 7 p.m. PST (7 to 10 p.m. EST), and July 8 from 2 to 5 p.m. PST (5 to 8 p.m. EST), is designed to bring the decking industry together with educational zoom sessions, a digital tradeshow floor featuring the hottest products and chance to win exciting prizes. The event will feature presentations from renowned builders and contractors like Bobby Parks, The Carey Brothers and Dr. Decks.
All registered attendees are invited to join HGTV stars The BroLaws as they host The Decking Game Show at the end of the first day on July 7. Attendees can compete against their industry colleagues to win awesome prizes from CAMO, FastenMaster, Regal Ideas, and Telesteps Ladders. The game is only open to registered attendees who will have the chance to answer deck and outdoor living questions through a multiple choice-style program.

The event will start in the late afternoon to minimize builders’ time away from the jobsites. Educational sessions start with an opening keynote from Bobby Parks. Known by all as a legendary deck builder with a wealth of knowledge, Parks is looking to the future and will rev up the rest of the industry to do the same. Attendees will then be able to see the industry’s leading deck podcast go live, as they join hosts Shane and Wade for an exclusive Q&A livestream of The Ultimate Deck Show straight from their recording studio. Day two, July 8, will be packed with just as much energy as The Carey Brothers take center stage to talk about branding. The third generation contractors will use their wit and enthusiasm to deliver a lively presentation aimed to help you separate your business from the competition. Next up will be a presentation builders truly won’t want to miss. Dr. Decks will sit down with Mark King, founder of Infinite Decks, as the two talk about how social media has impacted their brands and whether or not they feel it’s worth investing in.
The event will close with a panel discussion led by well-known builder and Deck Specialist columnist Brendan Casey, owner of Casey Fence and Deck. Join Brendan and several winners of the first annual Deck Specialist of the Year Awards as they gather for a panel discussion on how they were able to take their work and their businesses to the next level by leveraging elite product brands.
