Deck and Railing Association honored the 2020 award winners for its National+ Deck Competition at its annual meeting April 22. Builders were able to meet in person for the first time in nearly a year in Clearwater Beach, FL.
Attendance was expected to be lower than normal due to the pandemic, so NADRA made the decision to live-stream the event. Over 100 members in attendance were thrilled to be together again. Several who were not in attendance sent in personalized video messages.
“What a great event! Year after year the level of creativity, vision, and craftsmanship continues to raise the bar,” said Michael Beaudry, NADRA’s executive vice president. “Where will you take it next? That’s the joy we all receive from watching the awards night, whether in person or online. It’s a night that we, as an industry and as an association, look forward to each year. This year there was something very special about it.”
The association honored builders in a number of categories from wood deck under $25k, to alternative deck over $100k, refinished/restored deck and limitless creation. Winners included Decksouth of Marietta, GA., which was awarded first place overall.
